10 Years

Justin and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary last Friday, July 27th!!!!

July 4, 2001
He proposed while double skiing on Lake Minnetonka.  He had the ring in his swimsuit pocket attached to a boat keychain.  On one side it said "Amy" and on the other side was the question, "Will you marry me?"

I can't believe how quickly 10 years has gone by....feels like just yesterday we were attending ISU.  It's been filled with many moves, job changes and sweet baby girls.  I wouldn't change anything!
Thanks to Justin for being a great Daddy, Husband and Friend.

We  made plans to go out to dinner with Justin's brother, Kyle, and his wife, Ellen.  However, Justin's flights back to Iowa were not working out, so it ended up just being Ellen and me!  We enjoyed a night out in Des Moines and picked Justin up at the airport afterward.

Having dinner with him would have been great, but our celebrating isn't over.  We head to NYC on Friday with our neighbors from Omaha.  We will spend 2 nights in the big city and then board a ship to cruise north to Canada.  I am looking forward to a week of adult conversation and sight seeing.  We will miss the girls, but they will have a great time splitting the week between the grandparents in Iowa and Minnesota.

Married Life is Still Good After 10 Years.

Next Stop.......North Platte, Nebraska!!!

Next Stop.......North Platte, Nebraska!!!

My mom met us in Boone and the 6 of us headed west to North Platte, Nebraska to visit family.

The first morning, we visited with my Grandma.  The girls liked playing with the toys she has for them, telling her about their summer and loved seeing their artwork hanging on her wall.
Whitney and Great Grandma share the same birthday--August 18th!!!

After our visit we headed to my cousin's house for a fun afternoon in the big bouncer.

Chloe and Whitney liked their own little pool!!!!
It was Chloe's 1st Birthday that day---so glad we could celebrate with her!!!

 Visiting with Great Grandma again
A summer visit to North Platte is not complete without a trip to Cody Park!!!!

The Littles could ride too, but they needed to be in the back of a car---wasn't sure what Whit would think, but she loved it!!!

Last year's visit was a bit different!!!

The best part of this ride is your flip flops "fall" off and you have to collect them afterwards!!!

 Everyone loves ice cream!!!

We always have a great time in North Platte, I just wish it was closer.  When we lived in Omaha we were able to get there more often.  My aunt, my cousin and her kids are planning a trip to Indy over Martin Luther King Day so we have another visit to look forward to.

Life is Good with family!!

Annual Summer Softball Game

After Okoboji we headed down to Boone, Iowa for a few days.  The main event on our visit was the Annual Summer Softball Game we have with Justin's aunt, uncle and his cousins' families.  We always have a great time and this year was no exception!!!
In the morning we had a family photo shoot---can't wait to see the pics.  It went really well---wasn't sure what to expect with 13 kids 7 and under!!!!
After lunch we all meet back for a birthday celebration for 3 kiddos with summer birthdays.....Still in denial that my baby will be 1 in 2 weeks!

All the Chesnut girls had the same shirt, but were not purchased together---great Mommy Minds think alike!!!!  We did plan to wear them on the same day once we knew we all had them.

Let's Play Ball!!!

This is the first year we played Chesnuts vs. Weigels.
The end score was not in favor of the Chesnuts, but I am sure next year will be different!!!

It was HOT and the kids loved getting into their suits and running around.

Just Hangin' Around

Corn Hole by the Corn Field

Birthday Cake

Another event of the day was the wine tasting by the campfire..........Babies and Littles were asleep and Bigs were watching a movie(except Macy and Kaylee).  I am not a big wine drinker but it was fun to taste them and see what other people thought.  Opinions flow freely and get more unique as the night goes on!!!

Can't wait for next year's game and tasting......We will be practicing for both over the next 12 months!!!

Life is Good with traditions!!!
