Cousin Week: Part 2

 WEDNESDAY:
After checking the cows, the girls did a little baking.....ice cream cone cupcakes.
The day's activity was a little beach time at Big Creek.
There were high amounts of algae, so it took the girls a bit to get in the water.....Hannah and Kaylee never did go in.  Macy and Morgan didn't listen to our warning about not putting their faces in.....They had a good shower afterward!

 Picnic Time!!!!!

After showers, they had a little fun with Chloe
 .......and frosted their cupcakes.

 THURSDAY:
ZOO TIME---missing 3 of our monkeys in the pic....they came a bit later.

 Our Crazy Crew.........

 FRIDAY:
Due to nasty weather, we headed to Jessica's again instead of the berry farm.
That night Justin's parents and brothers watched the kids so the Mommies could do some shopping and eat down in Des Moines.
SATURDAY:

Whitney really liked having a stroller partner!
 Waiting for candy:
 Candy Collection:

 Pretty Proud of Herself!

After the parade we had lunch with Justin's Grandma, and then headed back to the farm to play inside while it rained.

We had a great week with our cousins.
We get to spend another week with them after the 4th in Okoboji!

Life is Good when your cousins are your friends!

Cousin Week Part 1

Last Saturday, the girls and I headed down to Iowa for "Cousin Week."
The 2 middles were back for 2 funerals this past year, but Hannah, Whitney and I haven't seen everyone since August.  We had a very busy week.  We spent the days doing fun things, and in the evenings the 3 BIGS and their cousin, Morgan went to VBS.

 MONDAY:
Justin's cousin, Jessica, and her family live in Ames and she was nice enough to invite our crazy crew over for the day.

Hannah had a great time with the 2 year olds, Cousin William and Whitney

 Bathing Beauties

 TUESDAY:

A little sprinkler time at Cousin Morgan and Chloe's house

They didn't last long with the cold water spraying on them!!!
Perfect Iowa summer afternoon:  Popsicles by the cornfield

Perfect ending to a busy day:  Eating a popsicle and sharing a chair with your cousin.

Baking + Swimming= A Fun Day!

The girls love cooking shows lately and want to bake all the time.  Today, we had some of our friends over to help the girls with a few projects.  The big girls did a great job with the girls, and my girls loved spending time with the older ones.
First up was sugar cookies:

She thought cracking the egg was great because I never let them at home!

Mixing with your hands is so much fun!!!

 BEST PLAY DOUGH EVER!!!!!

While the cookies baked and cooled the girls enjoyed some time at the pool with pizza.

 Everyone enjoyed decorating!

Whitney was done baking and moved onto being Mommy!

Macy wanted to copy Hannah's cool flag cookie.

She quickly turned into Sleeping Beauty

The second project was strawberries dipped in white chocolate and blue sugar.  Julia came up with the clever name of  "Straws and Stripes."

Life is Good with a day in the kitchen...and the pool!
