Singapore or Bust!

On Friday after school we loaded the car and headed south for Singapore.  Monday was a public holiday for Malaysia day so no work or school made for a 3 day weekend.

Our car seems overly packed because we brought a lot of food for breakfasts and snacks.  Also, our  VW "minivan" is about the same size as a US SUV and has very little cargo space in the back end.  However, the main reason is we have 4 kids and they like to pack a lot of stuff!!!!

We had noodles and ham sandwiches for dinner, and didn't need to do any potty stops.

We made the trip in about 4 hours and had a pretty smooth stop at customs.

Once we got checked in to the hotel it was lights out in both of our rooms----in Asia our large family requires 2 rooms....so far we have been able to get adjoining rooms on all of our trips.

The girls woke up early when they heard this friend outside our window.......
I am just glad it was a peacock that woke us and not a monkey!!!!
A quick breakfast ON the bed and we were ready for our Day 1 adventure.

Whitney the Wise

Whitney has been loving school.
I have been keeping her home on Wednesdays so we can do a Mommy and Me swim class.
Before class today, she was being pretty funny.......
Two of her new favorite things are to brush her teeth and call our driver by name...Bob.

Life is Good when you have Whitney/ "Baby" to keep you entertained!

Forgiven by the Fairy

The Tooth Fairy didn't show up the other night......We think it was because Hannah had misplaced her tooth and it wasn't in the tooth pillow.  The other day when this happened, she wrote a note.  She also forgot to write a note on Monday night.

She wrote one last night and had Daddy sign it.
The Tooth Fairy must have access to the Internet to verify she did loose 2 teeth in just a few days because this morning she had 4 ringgit waiting in her tooth pillow.

I guess the tooth fairy has forgiven her!!!

Morning Sweat Shop Hours

Now that Whitney is going to school in the mornings, I have been trying to do some sewing while the house is quiet.   It is so much easier to cut and stitch when you don't have little hands in the way or little bodies trying to climb into your lap!!!

I found this colorful main fabric at a local shop the other day....This was the only pattern that really caught my eye, but I am hoping next time there will be others.
The local shop had mostly single color fabrics and a few sewing notions.  I can't wait to get my Hobby Lobby shipment in a few weeks.  Justin's trip to the US in November was canceled, but he is meeting a co-worker in Bali shortly.  They will transfer the duffle bag of supplies there!!!

I made size 5 skirts in all the fabric patterns I used for dresses earlier.
Now I just need to work on other sizes!!!!
Luckily, we just stocked up on cheap movies the other night, so I can watch movies and cut fabric while my buddies are at school....Started The Great Gatsby yesterday.

Macy wanted to use my scarf for her top so she wasn't naked!!!

I love how colorful and twirly this pattern is.....4 rectangles of 5 different designs=20 different sections pieced together.

I have also been working on my purse inventory........

Life is Good when your hobby is working with fun, colorful fabric!

Hannah's Christmas List

This was Hannah this morning.
Luckily, the pic on my phone didn't turn out too well because her tooth was just hanging.  She lost her first front tooth last Thursday.  This morning at 4:15, she woke up and began wiggling the other one.  She wouldn't pull it before going to school because she wanted to visit the nurse and get a tooth necklace.
This plan back fired on her because when she went down, the nurse wasn't there.
So for the 2nd time in a week, she lost her lost tooth.
I guess she will have to write another note to the tooth fairy.
However, does have the first item on her Christmas list....Her 2 front teeth.

When she found out what was for dinner...walking tacos, she said, "This is the best day ever!!!!!!"

Hannah has had an eventful day beyond teeth and tacos.

She had her first Brownie meeting of the year....I think she will have a great time and she has an awesome leader....ME!!!
While doing her homework next to me right now, she is talking through making the map of her room.  I asked what type of accent is that she is using?
"A little bit of British, a little bit of cowboy and a little bit of Australian."  It is keeping me entertained and seems to make her quite productive!

Crazy Day at the Bus Stop

Let me start this post by saying I am not a perfect mom and have never claimed to be!!!!!

I sometimes forget to do things for the girls or double check that they have done them..
....brush teeth before they leave the house,
...potty before bed, or....sometimes and....
....read the book they bring home for homework.

However, I have never forgotten to pick one of them up somewhere......UNTIL TODAY!!!!!!!

At 12:30, I walked down to the bus stop to get Macy.
At 12:35, my friend's phone rang and it was Justin looking for me.
(My phone was on the kitchen counter.)
He said the school called and Macy was there waiting for me............

Whoops!!!!!

I had a meeting scheduled for 11:00 at the school that was canceled.
I completely forgot about calling the bussing office to change Macy's plan.

I ran up to the house and got in the car to drive myself(only done this a few times) to the school.

This pic was taken at 1:35

With a lunch of McDonald's and now playing with her buddy, I think she has gotten over the fact I forgot her.

Now I just hope I remember to walk down to the bus stop at 3:00 to get the other girls!!!!

Life is Good when if you forget your child at least it was at school!!!!

New Baby, New School

This morning was filled with new things for us.....
Before heading to school, we got to FaceTime with our NEW baby cousin, Chloe.  Whitney loved seeing her and touching the screen and saying, "Baby."   We have to wait until the summer to see her in person, but it was great to meet her and see her BIG sister, Morgan on the computer.

After the Bigs got on the bus, Whitney needed to get her backpack ready for
HER FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!

I have been asking her if she wants to go to school for the last few weeks and she always says:  "Mama?!?!?!?!"  When I tell her I can't go she says, "Oh."

Her blanket and paci were packed in the side pocket if she needed them.

I wasn't too sure what her "Oh" would mean when we got to school, but she wanted to wear her backpack in and walked through the gate.  I got her started playing kitchen and then snuck out.  She only went for an hour today, so I went and had a coffee and read my book.
When I picked her up, she was singing songs in a circle and had a big smile.
The blanket and paci were still tucked safely in the side pocket of her bag!

A quick after school snack +
a thumbs up for the day =
A successful first day of preschool!!!!
Now time for a quick nap before Macy gets home!

Life is Good with new adventures.
