Day 2: Seoul

On the way to breakfast we ran into these furry friends.

They were an advertisement for The Teddy Bear Zoo, so we set off to find more animals.....

I wasn't really sure what would be at the "zoo" since the sign we saw at breakfast was mostly in Korean.

Turns out, it was a really neat indoor play area for kids!

She spent a lot of time digging in the soft edged wooden cubes.

She loved steering our zebra!

These friends greeted her at the "Kangaroo Trampoline".

Next up....a ride on the Namsan Cable Car. It was a 3 minute ride up the mountain with 40 people in a car.

At the top, along with great views of the city is the N Seoul Tower...The 10th largest communications tower in the world.

I wasn't really sure the story behind the locks at the top...until I checked Wikipedia:

A love lock or love padlock is a padlock which sweethearts lock to a bridge, fence, gate, or similar public fixture to symbolize their love. Typically the sweethearts' names or initials are inscribed on the padlock, and its key is thrown away to symbolise unbreakable love. Since the 2000s, love locks have proliferated at an increasing number of locations worldwide. They are often treated by municipal authorities as litter or vandalism, and there is some cost to their removal.

She was a bit cold and tired on the way down, so she decided to sit!

A Twix and Gatorade worked to energize her for a game of Spot It Jr.

We spotted one of our Omaha and Indianapolis favorites and had to stop for dinner.

It was a great couple of days with Whitney.

We've never had much quality time with just the 3 of us.

She liked getting to push all the elevator buttons, use the iPad whenever she wanted, take a long bath alone and all the other perks of being the only child. However, there were a few times she said she missed her sisters.

On the way to the airport we passed the Olympic complex from 1988.

I really enjoyed my time in Korea and getting to see another culture in Asia.

Life is Good when exploring more and enjoying our Asian Adventure!

Next week, it continues when Whitney and I tag along to Manila, Philippines!!!

Tagging along to Korea

Whitney started her Christmas break from school on Friday.

What better way to start a holiday than a business trip with Daddy to Korea!!!

Our flight left Monday at 1am....Luckily she took a long evening nap, so she was all smiles for her midnight snack of ice cream.

She slept the whole 7 hour flight!

Justin and I didn't sleep as well as her, but we did get a few hours in.

Without sisters wanting to ride too, she got the prime seat with the luggage!

She was most excited about SNOW and getting to wear a hat!!!!

Since neither of us have worn cold weather clothes in 2 years, I had to get Rubbermaid bins out of our closets. I had to borrow a winter coat and winter shoes from friends since mine are safely tucked away at my parents'.

Justin had to be at work at noon, so Whitney and I headed out to discover Seoul.

We stayed at the Lotte World Hotel. It was connected to a department store, 2 malls and Lotte World Adventure....an indoor amusement park.

Whitney wanted to stop and watch the live show. She really enjoyed it...even though it was entirely in Korean!

Dippin' Dots and a Merry Go Round ride were a must!

If the BIGs were along we would have stayed a bit longer and tried the indoor ice skating. There were quite a few preschool groups lining up for rides and riding was not as much fun without her sisters along!

We met up with Daddy and one of his co-workers for dinner.

All ready for a night of cold-weather sleeping in her snowman pjs.

Thanksgiving and Biathlon

I really miss Target, but IKEA has been my new place where I find things I didn't even know I needed!!! My most recent IKEA purchase was gingerbread houses the girls and their friends decorated before our Thanksgiving meal. Our Thanksgiving celebration included 7 little girls, 3 Elanco men, 3 wives, a fashion show by the girls and A LOT of food. It was a fun night with friends.

We had some issues with broken pieces and pieces not staying together. I don't think there will be a Chesnut Girls Construction Company anytime soon!

We were a few days late(Monday), but Macy had her annual picture taken with her parade on the TV.

Sunday was an early morning of running and swimming for Hannah with the biathlon. It was perfect for her because swimming and running are two of her favorite things!
