Christmas Eve

We started Christmas Eve off with horse ridging lessons and pony rides for the little girls...Actually, it was just Whitney because Macy decided she didn't want to wear the helmet....No helmet, No ride!!!  Next week she is going to bring her bike helmet and try that!
Whit loved it and she was a little upset the groom was walking with her.  She wanted to ride all by herself.

After lunch, it was time for some boating!

3 LOVE it, 1 not so sure!

Whitney enjoyed swimming with Daddy and snacking the most!

The BIGS had a wild ride!!!

A neighborhood potluck was a great way to spend a Christmas Eve meal.

We opened a few presents at night.
The girls were very excited for G and G to open the batik quilt made out of their artwork.
The girls must have been very good this year because Santa brought them many fun things to play with.

G and G arrive in KL

What better way to spend Grandma and Grandpa's first day in Malaysia than to do a few of our favorite things!

Getting our nails done:

Eating dumplings and noodles at DTF:
 Getting in the Christmas Spirit:
For being a Muslim country, Malaysian malls love to decorate for Christmas

 Dinner at Las Carretas:
Macy is also taking a picture, and H and K are hiding!
We have a few more busy days ahead in KL before we head to the beach to relax.

Life is Good when G and G come to town...especially at Christmas!!!

A Special Dinner Guest

Last week, we had a very special dinner guest, Molly Reel!
Molly is currently on an 11 month, 11 country adventure for the World Race missionary project.  This month she is in Malaysia,  and thankfully it worked out that she could come hang out for an evening.  It was great to catch up with Molly and discuss family, Iowa State and farming...some of the Chesnuts favorite topics!  We even got to do a Skype call with Emily and Dan Baum!

Whitney as a chilly gymnast....sweatshirt and leotard!
Attempt 1 with a 6 year old photographer:
 Much better......

Life is Good when college friends are able to come to dinner!

A Few Days in the Philippines

On Sunday, Whitney and I set off for a quick couple of days in Manila, Philippines with Justin.  Monday morning was raining so we went to the mall attached to our hotel.  Whitney found the Barbie store very quickly.  After taking a look around the store, she had a make over!

After hair, make up and getting her nails painted she was ready for more shopping!
We got in late on Sunday night and ordered pizza for dinner.  For lunch on Monday, Whitney wanted "Pizza in the room" again.
It was a overcast in the afternoon, but she still wanted to check out the pool/splash park.

Daddy spent Tuesday morning on calls while we slept in.  At 10, we headed to a nice outdoor mall.
A sign you would never see in Malaysia:
Whitney and I both enjoyed shopping at Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids.
 She shopped till she dropped:
He spent 3 hours on the phone at a coffee shop:
Funny how Justin got all his Christmas shopping done for me while he was on conference calls!

Life is Good with quick trips with Daddy.
However, Whitney is excited for our trip next week with her sisters, Grandma Carol and Papa Dave!

Hi-5 Comes to Malaysia

On Friday, the Littles went to Hi-5 with some friends.

Before we moved to Malaysia we hadn't heard of Hi-5, but now the girls really like it.  It is a show based on a musical group from Australia and plays on Disney Junior here.  Think a co-ed, early twenties Wiggles-like group!
Macy thought it was really great to get out of school early for lunch and the show while the Bigs had to go the full day!
What do you do with about 45 minutes before a show starts?!?!?!....You buy huge foam hands and start giving strangers and friends high fives!

The foam fingers were a great time waster!!!  However, by the time the show started Whitney was just down to the palm of a hand.....She thought pulling the fingers off was fun!
