Night Market

On Tuesday night while Hannah was at gymnastics, the Middles, Justin and I went to the night market.  It was very similar to a farmer's market you would see in the US.  We got there around 5:30 and most tents were all set up and ready for business.  While we were walking around a few more vendors were coming in.

There were many fruits for sale....some we were familiar with(we bought grapes) and a few we haven't tried before.
We bought a cucumber and a sweet corn.
There were also stands with meat and fish.....I will just let you picture that yourself.  There were a few times I had to tell Kaylee to just walk faster and breathe through your mouth.  This market was different from the wet market we have been to because there weren't any live animals.
This market was a mix of wet(raw) and dry(clothing and non perishables).  Since it just runs certain hours and days it doesn't have the typical wet market feel because things don't need to be washed down....literally making the market space wet.

The girls were tempted by the watches.
There were also stands with clothing, but nothing handmade.
There were quite a few stands with food, so it made it EVEN HOTTER!!!

This was my first time at the night market, but Justin and the girls went when Uncle Michael was in town.  I am sure we will all be back in the fall-----we leave for the US in 2 weeks!!!

2nd Day, Same as the 1st!!!!

Our 2nd day in Penang was pretty much the same as the first, but we did visit the beach!!!!
It was a bright and sunny day, but my camera lens was very fogged over because of the change in inside to outside temp!

Finally 8!!!!!!!
We were told there may be jellyfish in the water, so Macy wasn't too sure about putting her feet in.........
.............She saw how much fun her sisters were having so that didn't last long!

Whitney is still not sure about the sand, and wanted no part of touching it or walking on it!
She was totally into swimming though!!!!
 ..........And the water slide!
Tried to get a good Daddy/Daughters picture:

Seaside Lunch

Another afternoon was spent in the Kokonut Kids Klub ......and another foot message and exploring afternoon was spent for parents.

Hannah didn't want to hold the python at first, but we told her vets need to like reptiles too so she did!
Whitney may not be the vet in the family!!!
 Back to the beach......

Still unsure of the sand, but at least she didn't need to be held.

At dinner, we ran into one of our neighbors so the girls enjoyed running on the beach with her while we waited for our food.

Nighttime horse rides on the beach with the birthday girl!
On the walk back to the hotel, the girls, Mommy and Daddy all spent some money at the night market!!!!
I think Hannah had a great birthday weekend and all of us enjoyed a family getaway.
Our 4 light haired girls got a lot of attention this weekend from the other vacationers and the locals we met.  I don't think my FB page is the only one they made it on this weekend!!!
The rain held off until we got home, the girls helped bring in the bags and are now helping to vacuum out the car.  We did stop for lunch on the way home, but between snacking on the way there and again today the car is a mess.  They should sleep well tonight!

Penang: Day 1

Was hoping our late night would make a few late sleepers, but they were all up and ready to go the next morning!

After taking a quick walk around the grounds of the Park Royal hotel, the girls decided the pool with the slide is where they wanted to make camp for the day!

The water wasn't turned on in the yellow slide yet, but that didn't stop the girls!

While the Bigs enjoyed the slide, Whit watched from the baby pool.

All morning, Hannah wanted to open birthday presents...Right before lunch, she finally wore us down and she got to open a few.
The night we went to dinner, she got a package filled with some of her favorite snacks:
She loves to write so I thought a journal would be perfect to write about all her Malaysian adventures.
Sisters got to enjoy this gift too...Purses/Camera Bags so they can carry their own things this summer!
Whit didn't seem to bothered that she didn't get a purse!!!!!
She did perk up when they went back to the slide!!!!
Refueling with spaghetti, beef burgers and nachos.

After lunch I took Whitney back to nap.
I thought about relaxing and reading in the courtyard area outside our room.

I decided to stay in the AC, but still enjoy the view!!!!

In the afternoon, all 4 girls went to the Kokonut Kids Klub and Justin and I explored a bit.....First, we stopped for a $10/30 minute foot message.

These 3 are ready to get some dinner and hit the night market with the 50 ringgit they got in their purses.
Macy and Kaylee each found a Hello Kitty bracelet, but wanted to keep looking to spend the rest.  Hannah decided to keep all her money for the following night.
