Patchwork Pillowcase Dresses

When Justin comes back from the US on March 1, he will also be bringing me back fabric.
Yesterday, I started cleaning out my scrap bin…..In with the new, out with the old!
I found quite a few large pieces and decided to try some pillowcase dresses with a patchwork style.

 Tried some shirts too…..

Macy's is actually a size 3 dress, but my size 2/3 model was on strike…..She wouldn't even work for Sprite and chocolate!

"ABCD shirt"

I LOVE school uniforms.
The 3 BIGS wear them and is makes getting dressed in the morning much easier.
There are no fights at night about what to wear the next day.

Getting Whitney ready in the morning is a whole different story.
She has become very opinionated on what she wears.
Her new current obsession is "ABCD shirts."……Shirts with words on them.

Getting her to stand still for a picture in her "ABCD shirt" is about as challenging as getting her to get dressed!

 Her "sunSHINE" shirt
and one that says "FUN IN THE SUN" (worn twice this week)are her favorites.

Between her 2 favorites and a few Adidas outfits she has a small rotation going on.

Life is Good, but a little stressful getting Whit dressed each morning.

Hannah's First Track Meet

Hannah had her first track meet last weekend.
She was really excited about it and so was I!
I love that she enjoys athletics and it is so fun to watch her.

First off, she had the shot put.  Justin went to watch and I forgot to give him the camera.
Our tiny, strong girl got 1st place for U9 girls.

Next up, she had the 100m dash

She ended up in 3rd.

She also did the long jump:
I was most proud during her 200m race.  Shortly after this photo, she tripped and fell.
The fall put her quite a bit behind everyone else…….
But she stuck with it and got with the pack in the end.
She didn't mind getting 4th and she thought the grass stain on her jersey was cool!

She enjoyed the morning and her sisters did a pretty good job in the bleachers and on the playground.  Her next meet is March 1, and I think her sisters will stay at home!

Life is Good with track and field.

Happy Chinese New Year: Gong Xi Fa Cai

We went to our first Chinese New Year dinner at a friend's house last night.
One of Justin's co-workers invited us over and a 2 other co-workers came too.  CNY is a long celebration and is celebrated with many gatherings of friends and family.  Fireworks are set off A LOT!!!!

Chinese New Year celebrations, also known as the Spring Festival, in China start on the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month of the Chinese calendar. The festival lasts for about 23 days, ending on the 15th day of the first lunar month in the following year in the Chinese calendar.

The girls really liked the red envelopes of money!
Hannh found she really liked duck, and I could have eaten the noodles all night long!

 With Dr. Wong's family.
His son is an '09 Iowa State Animal Science grad…..You can find Cyclones everywhere!!!!!
After dinner, the girls joined in on a game:
Life is Good with dinner with friends.

Finally the Beach…….

Our hotel wasn't right on the beach, but it was just a quick van ride away.

This beach had the most waves the girls have seen….Hannah loved it.  Kaylee liked it until it knocked her down.

These 2 thought getting their hair braided sounded like a good idea!

I went to wash the sand off of Macy's swimsuit the waves caught me off guard and took the bottoms away.
I looked for awhile, but they never came back ashore!

Braided Bali Beach Bums!
She wanted no part of the braid picture.

The afternoon was spent in the Kids' Club for the 3 Littles and Hannah hung out with Mom and Dad.

Diet Coke and not Coke Light!!!!!
Life is Good on the Beach and with your BIGGEST!
