Okoboji

I can't believe school starts---Kindergarten for Kaylee and 2nd grade for Hannah in just a little over 2 weeks!!!!

Our summer has gone by so fast and we have seen so many people and done so many things.  The girls and I started our summer adventure on June 20th and haven't been back to Indy since.  You've seen some of our adventures on the blog, but it has been awhile since I last posted.  That is because we left our home away from home(my parent's house in MN) on July 14th for a few adventures and just got back yesterday.

Our first stop was Okoboji for a family vacation with Justin's parents, his brothers and their families.  We have been going to Okoboji for the last few years together and staying at Boji Bay.  We got their before everyone else on Saturday night, so we had a fun visit with our friends, the Jostands and Abby Goodlaxson....hanging out with them made us wish we still lived there!!!

Sunday everyone else started to arrive.
Macy was so happy to be with Morgan and was super excited that they had the same swimsuit!!!!

We got out on the water as soon as we could.
A stop for water guns was a priority!!!!
 Afternoon playdough time.
The girls love to play and I am not too thrilled with the clean up,
so I figured the deck of the condo would be a win/win for all of us!!!!

Kaylee has really been surprising me this summer with her adventurous side---skiing, roller coasters, tubing and she wanted to try the lily pads.
Hannah would hop from pad to pad and she was quickly running across all of them---I think we should sign her up for Survivor!!!

 On the pontoon..........

No.....We didn't make Whitney tube by herself!!!!

It was HOT, so a stop at Arnold's Park for ice cream was a must!!!!

Justin's parents love back shots with water in the background.
We take one of the kids like this every year.
This was the first year with Whitney and William included!!!

Justin got an idea that he, his 3 brothers and his dad should try  4-Man Skiing.
I wasn't too sure about it, but I am so glad they tried it:
They got up on the 2nd morning of trying........I was driving(please note: I have never driven a boat with 1 skier so 4 was kind of freaking me out!!!)  I think it will be a memory all of us will never forget---and if we do I am sure one of the boys will remind us!!!!

We also went out to dinner with just the adults to celebrate all of our July anniversaries.  It was so nice to chat with everyone with out short ones around!!!

My SIL, Ellen, and I also went for a run and stopped at different sites around the area.  Getting ready to do it with her, running it and continuing to run afterward got the running bug in me started again---it's been awhile!!!!  We have decided to sign up for a half marathon in Indy on October 20th----Guess there will be more running in the near future for me!!!!

Life is Good when you go on great vacations with family!!!!

11 Months

Whitney will be 11 months on the 18th, but we head out for a family vacation in Okoboji tomorrow, so figured I would post a few days early.
Still no teeth............think she may be getting some soon(I hope)!!!
She has been pretty go with the flow for our crazy summer schedule---the girls and I haven't been home since June 20th.

In her "cage" poolside

Lately, the only way I can get her to eat baby food is if she gets to hold the spoon.  We are trying bits of real food, but she isn't too into that either.....We have been buying a lot of baby yogurt and eating a lot of corn...........and eating A LOT of shirtless meals!!!!!

Hanging out in the stroller

Her newest trick is standing by herself---it is only for a few seconds, but her sisters think it is really cool.  Anytime she does it they shout that she is standing.

I think she is starting to look a lot like Kaylee's baby pictures:
These great shots of Kay are by Ryan Chan

Macy at 11 months

Since I didn't pack my laptop and I am using my mom's I don't have an 11 month photo of Hannah.

Camp for the Middles

The Middles are loving their preschool camp.  It will be the last time just the 2 of them go to the same school for awhile.  When I asked Macy if she played with just Kaylee or met other friends she said, "I pretty much just play with Kaylee!!!!"

These are the necklaces Hannah got the girls on her trip to Claire's by herself----one later broke while on the playground so we may need to go and get another set!!!

The camp's theme is Olympics and the girls have enjoyed learning about the upcoming games.  While I was drinking a Diet Coke Macy pointed out the rings on the can and was telling me they are actually other colors and not all red.

The Whale is Back!!!

After falling off the tube a few weeks ago while doing, "Shake your shaggy whale," Kaylee and Macy were a bit apprehensive about getting back on the tube.

Being afraid didn't last long, and the "Whale" is back:

Hannah's Week

This week all 3 Bigs were signed up for summer camp in MN.  The Middles were signed up for a preschool camp at the school where my mom taught, and Hannah was going to take a drama camp through the city.  Hannah's camp got canceled because not enough signed up.  She has been looking forward to the camp so was a bit disappointed when I told her she wouldn't be going.  However, once I told her she could pick something fun to do each day she quickly got over it!!!!  Yesterday, we went to Mall of America and visited the aquarium and ate at the Rainforest Cafe....2 things she has been wanting to do since we first got to MN.

They had a fun trivia game throughout the exhibit and she was able to take the time to read each question...She was so excited to get them all right!!!

Whitney wasn't being too cooperative at lunch, so I walked the halls with her for a bit.  Grandma and Hannah did the activities on the children's menu.
We did do a little shopping........
Hannah found a wallet at Claire's and something for each sister.
I wanted to get some new shoes for Hannah for 2nd grade.  We thought we better get some for her sister's too, so we came home with 3 pairs of pink sequins Toms.

Today's activity:
A run/bike ride around Round Lake once we drop off the Middles

Another Fun Get Together

This weekend, we had a great time with our Omaha neighbors.  They came up to MN on Friday and we spent a lot of time by the pool and in the boat.

Macy went from clothes to swimsuit MANY times.

The Shaggy Whale made an appearance

They performed a 5 second skit and thought it was hilarious
 Mall of America

Waiting for the big/tall kids to get off the log ride
Not sure if more Cheez Its ended up ON her or IN her tummy!!!

 Tubing Tricks

We are so glad they were able to meet us again this summer.  We are looking forward to an adult only vacation at the beginning of August when we both celebrate our 10th anniversaries.
