Genting Highlands

Yesterday, we took a trip to the Genting Highlands.  It is an area about an hour from KL and 1,800 meters high on the Titiwangsa Mountains.  We drove some of the way up, but then got on a cable car to get the rest of the way up.  You can also drive the whole way if you want.

For 12 RM each($4 US) we were able to get round trip tickets.  We had to wait in line, but when we got there about 10:30 it wasn't too bad.  The girls liked the attention they got in line and Whitney enjoyed hanging on the rails and eating some raisins...her new favorite food.  If we didn't want to wait, we could have done an express ticket(30 RM/$10 one way), which would have taken us to the front of the line.

**I forgot my camera on this outing, so all pictures were taken by my dad.**
We rode on a car from the Genting Skyway station and the view was awesome!

The girls loved going through the clouds.
At the top there are hotels, casinos, shopping, restaurants, and indoor theme park and an outdoor one.

We decided to do the outdoor one.

Macy wasn't tall enough for the swings, so we went on the double decker carousel.

This swing pic was at the beginning of the ride when Kay looked terrified...by the end she was smiling!  (Grandpa and Hannah are the last 2 on the left.)

The timing worked out perfectly for Whitney to be tired after lunch and want to sit in her stroller. Eventually  she fell asleep. That gave the rest of us time to spend with the Bigs, and not be chasing her around the park!

Macy and I weren't as into the spinning as H and K.....They loved it and we needed to focus on each other so we wouldn't get sick.
They wanted to go again and spin fast the whole time.  Macy and I went on the more tame rockets.

The First World Hotel, holds the Guinness World of Records as the largest hotel in the world from 2006 until 2008, with a total of 6,118 rooms.
I wasn't able to find when the theme park was built.  I am guessing sometime in the late 80s or early 90s.  It didn't look like much had been done to it since then.....besides the day to day custodial clean up.  The rides were a little outdated and the buildings needed some paint....Justin said the whole place needed a good high pressure power washing and a scrub brush!  The girls didn't mind....they liked the rides.  Hannah did comment that it wasn't Disney World, but not much can compete with that!!!

One of the best parts of the day was the weather.  It was not hot, Hot, HOT!!!!
We could have done without the jackets.
Since we had them and it was a tiny bit cool some of us wore them.

Will just the 6 of us rush to go there again soon ....No
Will we go there again with visitors...Probably
Would we do the cable car ride again.... For Sure!!!!...Just to ride up and down was worth the trip.

Life is Good with day trips.
