Memory Lane

Today, we took my parents on a trip down memory lane of our first few weeks in KL.

We started with breakfast at Souled Out which is at the base of Somerset where we stayed for 3 weeks before moving into our house.
It wouldn't be a  complete stop at Somerset without a visit up to the pool!
While staying at Somerset we took the 20 minute walk to KLCC many times, but today opted for driving.
Our plan was to walk on the bridge between the 2 towers.  By the time we got there at about 10:45, the ticket times they were giving out where for after 6:00 tonight.....Guess we should have taken the advice online and gotten in line right away this morning!!!

Instead we walked through the mall to get to the park.

There's a big Formula 1 race in town this weekend.....

The girls enjoyed the park, but it was hot, Hot, HOT!!!!

So she has crazy hair in both pictures, but you can tell by her cheeks that she was a bit hot by the end of playtime!!!
We took the skyway over to the Pavilion mall for lunch of yummy steamed dumplings!

For dinner, we headed to our favorite Mexican place.  We ate there a few times while staying at Somerset.  It was within walking distance and right near the grocery store.
We ordered a glass of horchata( a rice milk and cinnamon drink)....It was yummy!!!!  It got passed around the table and we all agreed it would be good warmed up on a cool fall day.  It tasted similar to a chai tea.

Happy Hour--2 for 1 Margaritas
The food is great, but the best part may be the courtyard the girls can run around in while we wait for food!

Life is Good!
Hopefully, we wore the girls out enough today that they will sleep well.  We have to get up about 3:30 am to get our 6:55 flight to Phuket, Thailand.

  1. I am so glad your parents made it! Enjoy the time together and have fun in Phuket. My mouth is watering...Din Tai Fung was a favorite of ours in Beijing. Those dumplings were delish. And all the real Thai food in Phuket...mmmm! We obviously travel the same way. Enjoy! :)
